Iomega Prestige Portable Drive,
The drive is easy to set up – just plug in the USB. The problem I found was with the QuikProtect software provided with the drive by download from Iomega. Put simply, it has been unable to find a “path” and won’t do the job as intended. Fortunately there are plenty of other alternative back-up programs available, including freeware, so I am up and running.

|Cable and port make this awful.,
Absolutely awful product. Arrived, it looks good and is just a hard drive. Nothing wrong so far. When you actually attempt to use the drive you have to have the cable perpendicular to the hard drive – harder than it looks as both the cable and the port angle towards one another. To be able to actually use this hard drive I have to use the front USB ports on my computer (therefore removing the point of having bought a USB 3 hard drive) and then have the hard drive sitting on a coke can on my desk – this stretches the cable to its full extent and forces the hard drive to connect.
Basically – go for Western Digital.

|Satisfied,
I have a 55 gb Iomega portable hard drive and I have no complaint. I bought this Iomega Prestige Portable Hard Drive with a 500 gb because my present 55 gb Iomega portable hard disc is nearly half full. I use the Iomega for storing my business files. Also my internal hard disc drive is 95% full and I need more space by transferring some of my files, especially my picture files, from there.
I have no portability problem as I dock my notebook most of the time and use the notebook as a desktop. I suppose I have to be careful when carrying the portable hard disc and not drop it. As with most electronic equipment that will be a disaster.
So far I have no problem with the Iomega portable hard disc and no problem setting it up. I have no complaint about the file transfer rate and I am using a usb 2.
I have no problem with the supplier.
